Following our recent entry into the Umbria Aerospace Cluster, on March 20 our Business Development Engineer Gianluca Gazzani Marinelli participated in the annual meeting with all the members, held in the Confindustria Umbria Headquarters in Perugia.
During the event, we had the opportunity to engage with relevant players in the Aerospace & Defense market operating in Umbria, as well as to make a short presentation of EDA Group, focused on our actual presence in the sector.
As known, EDA Industries is an international Group with several companies based in Italy, Morocco and Asia. On top of design and production of Test Equipment, we support our Customers with Reliability Test services. An important and cutting-edge R&D Center is located in Terni.
By becoming part of the Cluster, EDA aims to build meaningful connections with industry experts, unlocking new growth opportunities and fruitful collaborations.
The meeting has also been attended by Stefania Proietti, President of the Umbria Region, and Francesco De Rebotti, Regional Assessor for Economic Development.

Last week our Application Engineers Giovanni Susinni and Salvatore Barone had the privilege of attending the International GaN4AP Workshop, a prestigious scientific forum on GaN technology held in Catania on February 20-21.
During the poster session of the event, Giovanni and Salvatore presented the paper "Dynamic ON Resistance Variations of Power GaN Devices ON SALT and DHTOL Tests", written with our Technical Director Alessandro Polpetta and Professor Santi Agatino Rizzo, and focused on the development of a platform for SALT and DHTOL testing according to the JEDEC standard.
A good number of participants asked us further details about this work and it has been a pleasure to answer to their questions and generate meaningful discussions.
Special thanks to the organizers, in particular to Professor Giacomo Scelba, for including us in this important symposium, which certainly represented a relevant opportunity for networking and insight.
We are honored to announce that the paper "Dynamic ON Resistance Variations of Power GaN Devices ON SALT and DHTOL Tests", written by ours Alessandro Polpetta, Giovanni Susinni, Salvatore Barone and Professor Santi Agatino Rizzo, has been accepted for presentation at the International GaN4AP Workshop, scheduled for February 20-21 in Catania.
The paper addresses the topic of developing a platform for SALT and DHTOL testing according to the JEDEC standard, and proposes an approach for in-depth monitoring of this parameter throughout the duration of the stress test.
The International GaN4AP Workshop is a scientific forum that will bring together leading specialists working in different areas of GaN technology, from universities, research centers, and industries.
Organized within the European project GaN4AP - GaN for Advanced Power Applications, the event aims to discuss the latest achievements in the development of advanced technologies and materials for power electronics, as well as GaN solutions for power converters.
2024 has been an intense year, full of important milestones, exciting events, and strategic collaborations.
We closed the last 12 months with the Grand Opening of the new EDA Malaysia plant in Jasin (Melaka), and we want to express once again our deepest gratitude to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and all the other Government Authorities in the country for their great support in relation to this significant investment.
A big thank you also goes to our amazing EDA Team for their invaluable dedication and commitment, as well as to our valued customers and partners for their trust in our expertise.
The journey continues, and we are ready for a 2025 of new opportunities, challenges, and even greater success together.
As EDA, we consider all our Global Team as a Unique Family, where everyone supports one another and works together toward shared targets and success.
Our recent Christmas celebrations in Italy, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia were a perfect example of this unity, providing meaningful opportunities to strengthen our bonds and deepen our sense of belonging.
We are proud to foster a work environment built on teamwork and respect. These two values are at the heart of everything we do, driving our collective success and ensuring that every EDA Person, independently of their position, race, religion, culture, experience, feels valued and empowered, being simply part of the Unique EDA Family.
Friday, December 13, marked a historic day for EDA Industries. In the presence of the Malaysia Government Authorities, Customers, Suppliers, Shareholders and Partners, we opened a new plant of more than 5000 sqm in the Jasin Industrial area (Melaka), which replaces the one operating since 2017 in Tangkak, that was no more enough to support the growth in Malaysia. Moreover this new plant is EDA Property.
The facility was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh, who affirmed: «We are very proud that EDA Industries has chosen Jasin as its centre of operations in Malaysia. With the establishment of this plant, EDA has become the largest Italian investor in Melaka, and we are sure that it will continue to bring prestige to the country thanks to its advanced technology and continuous innovation».
During his opening speech, Fortunato Palella, EDA Group Founder and President, highlighted Melaka's strategic position as an ideal investment destination, and presented the growth and achievements of EDA Industries over the 30 years.
«The opening of this new site in Malaysia represents an extraordinary milestone - said Fortunato Palella - The plant will be strategic in increasing our production capacity of Burn-in systems, ensuring Burn-in and Reliability Services, as well as in establishing an innovative and technologically advanced Design & R&D Centre. We would like to sincerely thank once again the Chief Minister of Melaka, MIDA and all the other Malaysian Government Authorities for their participation in the inauguration, and especially for their great support to transform an ambitious project into reality. At the same time, we thank our Customers, Suppliers and Partners for their meaningful trust in our expertise».
This unforgettable event also confirmed our commitment to consolidate and expand our presence in Malaysia: «My first trip in the country - continued Palella - was about 25 years ago when, after the foundation of EDA, we installed our first Burn-in system in Muar. Since then, I have been to Malaysia many times and I had the opportunity to observe the continuous changes that have led it to be today an important nation, technologically advanced, with great culture and profound hospitality. It is also for these reasons - concludes - that we are convinced this new plant will enable to meet EDA's growth strategy, which will lead to increasing the current staff from 30 skilled employees to over 100 in the next 3 years. Furthermore, we estimate that the current turnover of 1.5 million euros could exceed more than 5 million in the same period of time».
