Last Monday, May 13, we had the honor to be invited in the prestigious event "Catania Microelettronica 2024", promoted by the Italian Association of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Computer Science and Telecommunications and the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering of Catania University.
The initiative, organized at the Great Hall of the University Technological Hub, hosted a huge number of Engineering students and different high schools, who had the possibility to connect with important companies in the semiconductor market based in the Catania area.
The EDA Catania Director Ivano Redigolo presented our company to the public, having also the opportunity to be involved in a final panel discussion that aimed to explore the potential of the microelectronic sector in the Etna Valley.
Special thanks again to the organizers for including us in this appointment!
Through a donation made by our company at the end of 2023, the Rieti Red Cross Committee has been able to complete the repair of one of the cars used to serve the community.
«We thank EDA Industries for this precious action – affirmed Red Cross Rieti President Roberto Maiolati during a short meeting in our Rieti HQ – This was certainly an important contribution for the local committee, which needs human and economic supports to continue its activities in all areas under its jurisdiction».

STAr Technologies, founded in 2000 in Hsinchu of Taiwan, is a supplier of semiconductor test total solutions and provides test systems, software, consumables and services to semiconductor and optical industry companies. Its expertise extends across parametric E-test, WLR & PLR.
Dr. Fortunato Palella, Founder of EDA Industries, commented: "We are glad to announce this important partnership with STAr Technologies. Thanks to this agreement and the integration of sales and marketing strategy, our business will be on a new scale, allowing us to increase our coverage of the global semiconductor market, as well as to highlight our deep industry knowledge and expertise".
Dr. Choon-Leong Lou, CEO & CTO of STAr Technologies, said: "Testing is a critical process to semiconductor manufacturing and value demonstrated for ICs. We look forward to the year ahead with EDA as partnership promises sales and service cooperation and provide customers the complementary test solutions in the future".
Many congratulations to our Salvatore Barone, who recently obtained, with a grade of 110/110 cum laude, his Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Catania.
Salvatore, initially a trainee and now Application Engineer at our Catania site, discussed a thesis entitled "Evaluation of Dynamic ON Resistance Variations of Power GaN Devices on SALT and DHTOL tests", which allowed him to participate in the design and development of a HW and SW platform for SALT and DHTOL tests on GaN power devices.
Through the work done in EDA Catania, Salvatore has been able to put into practice the knowledge acquired during his studies, exploring all phases of design and implementation of test platforms.
«I would like to express my deepest and sincerest gratitude to my company tutor Giovanni Susinni – says Salvatore – His professionalism and helpfulness have been fundamental in successfully completing the goals set during the internship. Thank you also to EDA Catania Director Ivano Redigolo and all the other colleagues for welcoming me with open arms and making me feel part of the team right away. I will forever be grateful to the entire company for giving me the opportunity to live this new path of professional growth».
