Friday, December 13, marked a historic day for EDA Industries. In the presence of the Malaysia Government Authorities, Customers, Suppliers, Shareholders and Partners, we opened a new plant of more than 5000 sqm in the Jasin Industrial area (Melaka), which replaces the one operating since 2017 in Tangkak, that was no more enough to support the growth in Malaysia. Moreover this new plant is EDA Property.
The facility was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh, who affirmed: «We are very proud that EDA Industries has chosen Jasin as its centre of operations in Malaysia. With the establishment of this plant, EDA has become the largest Italian investor in Melaka, and we are sure that it will continue to bring prestige to the country thanks to its advanced technology and continuous innovation».
During his opening speech, Fortunato Palella, EDA Group Founder and President, highlighted Melaka's strategic position as an ideal investment destination, and presented the growth and achievements of EDA Industries over the 30 years.
«The opening of this new site in Malaysia represents an extraordinary milestone - said Fortunato Palella - The plant will be strategic in increasing our production capacity of Burn-in systems, ensuring Burn-in and Reliability Services, as well as in establishing an innovative and technologically advanced Design & R&D Centre. We would like to sincerely thank once again the Chief Minister of Melaka, MIDA and all the other Malaysian Government Authorities for their participation in the inauguration, and especially for their great support to transform an ambitious project into reality. At the same time, we thank our Customers, Suppliers and Partners for their meaningful trust in our expertise».
This unforgettable event also confirmed our commitment to consolidate and expand our presence in Malaysia: «My first trip in the country - continued Palella - was about 25 years ago when, after the foundation of EDA, we installed our first Burn-in system in Muar. Since then, I have been to Malaysia many times and I had the opportunity to observe the continuous changes that have led it to be today an important nation, technologically advanced, with great culture and profound hospitality. It is also for these reasons - concludes - that we are convinced this new plant will enable to meet EDA's growth strategy, which will lead to increasing the current staff from 30 skilled employees to over 100 in the next 3 years. Furthermore, we estimate that the current turnover of 1.5 million euros could exceed more than 5 million in the same period of time».
